I never imagined that The Heart of the Home would sell millions, even before publishers told me it wouldn’t. Once you self-publish, of course, the challenge of letting people know the book exists is very tall (so share the link!). But I have always imagined – and intended – two potential audiences. One is kitchen designers, or people thinking of becoming kitchen designers; the other is anybody thinking of buying a kitchen.
I knew from the beginning that the buying and selling of kitchens would have to be part of the book. In the UK market, designing and selling kitchens are inseparable.
Big-ticket selling in our country has a certain reputation, which it has earned. Some of us are trying to trick you.
How did I address that in the book? Tactfully, of course.
