I mention in The Heart of the Home that a kitchen designer who sets out in search of original sources for the rules, regulations and guidelines that control us all has a bit of a challenge. BS 6172, for instance, costs over £200 – just to find out about gas clearances!
Of these three seminal references, two are out of print and one costs ninety dollars plus delivery from the US. I found one on eBay, one secondhand on Amazon I think, and one both secondhand and in an earlier edition but good enough for my purposes.
This is partly why I think a book like mine is needed – although there’s also a lot more in mine.
